Recent Consultancy

See below for some of my most recent consultancies:

At the Universities of Wolverhampton and Huddersfield, I carried out mock inspections of their FE initial teacher education provision. I observed and interviewed trainees, mentors and trainers, scrutinised documentation and trainees’ work.

At Oxford Brookes University and the University of Derby, I carried out half day sessions preparing staff for inspection.

At Sheffield Hallam University, I was one of a team of consultants who carried out a mock inspection. I returned with a different team to advise on the University’s evaluation of its Primary, Secondary and Post 16 phases.

At the University of Hull, I advised the Post 16 team on its preparation for the second phase of Ofsted’s new two phase ITE inspection structure.

I have completed subsequent consultancy on ITE inspection for the Universities of Central Lancashire, Greenwich, Plymouth, Warwick, and Edge Hill, Liverpool Hope Universities and UCL/Institute of Education.

I was adviser to the University of Huddersfield /Education and Training Foundation ‘How To…’ project on embedding the Professional Standards in Initial Teacher Education and with the University I devised for the ETF a Professional Learning and Development Framework for use with Education and Training staff nationally.

I am Research Mentor for Creative Education’s Outstanding Teaching Learning and Assessment ETF funded Project in South Central England.

I am making a teaching and mentoring input to Creative Education’s ETF funded ITE Development Project in South West England.

I am teaching on the ETF/University of Bolton’s innovative FE Teaching LEAD (Learning, Education and Development) Programme.
